Water Softener

A water softener is a device designed to remove calcium, magnesium, and certain other metal cations from hard water. The resulting soft water requires less soap for cleaning, as soap is not wasted bonding with calcium ions. Additionally, soft water extends the lifetime of plumbing by reducing or eliminating scale build-up in pipes and fittings.
